Business Sale Preparation

What happens to the business when you leave?

You know how your business works. The question is whether it works without you—and whether a buyer can see that.

We review how the business runs, identify what could hold a sale up and help put it right.

Find what needs attention

Your accountant brings a financial lens, your lawyer a legal one. We bring an operational lens—and experience of being the buyer.

Chris has bought businesses and acted for investors making acquisitions, then gone on to run, restructure, modernise and sell those businesses again. He knows what buyers look for, what makes them hesitate and what they use to negotiate the price down.

You get a concise report explaining what matters, what we recommend changing and what can sensibly be left alone.

Do the work

You can act on the review yourself or ask us to help.

We can capture knowledge, clarify responsibilities, improve systems and processes, and prepare the team for a handover. Charles brings the operational experience to help carry out the changes.

A business that’s easier to take over is more attractive to buyers. We identify what can be fixed for significantly less than the value it adds.

Working with your advisers

We work alongside you, your business broker, accountant and lawyer.

We agree the scope and price of the review upfront. Any follow-on work is quoted separately.

Thinking about selling?

Most of our fixed-scope reviews cost between £5,000 and £7,500 + VAT. They involve at least a week of dedicated work by both of us, typically including two site visits and conversations with key members of the business.
